A Steady Climb: From Bank Services Representative to Office Manager

Tim Connolly joined Bank of New Hampshire in November 2014, as a Bank Services Representative. Over the years, Tim’s journey has taken him from Bank Services Representative to Training Associate, and today, he proudly serves as Assistant Vice President – Office Manager. His steady progression reflects not just his own dedication, but the Bank’s commitment to fostering talent from within.

Why BNH?

When asked what initially drew him to banking, Tim shared that it was a combination of factors. “I’ve always been in sales,” he says, “but the hours and federal holidays were very attractive to me.” It didn’t hurt that Tim was already familiar with BNH—he had been a customer for years and knew many of the people he would eventually work alongside. This sense of community made his transition into banking all the more seamless.

Continuous Growth Through Learning and Development

Tim credits BNH for supporting his professional growth from day one. “There have been a multitude of classes, and my supervisors have coached and developed me,” he reflects. From his early days as a Bank Services Representative to his excitement when he became a Training Associate, and his pride upon stepping into his current role as Office Manager, Tim’s growth is a result of continuous learning and development. “Take as many classes as you can,” Tim advises those just starting their careers. “You never know where or in what direction they will lead you. The career possibilities are endless.”

A Memorable Milestone

One of Tim’s most memorable moments at BNH came when he was promoted to Training Associate. The excitement he felt was just a stepping stone to what would become an even more fulfilling role as Office Manager. But beyond titles and promotions, what Tim values most is the opportunity to help people achieve their financial goals. “I truly enjoy helping people meet their financial goals. I also enjoy the relationships that are built over time. I feel like I really get to know my customers.”

Finding Fun in Banking

So, what keeps Tim motivated? In a word: fun. “Sure, there are stressful days,” he admits, “but the overall energy is fun.” It’s this positive energy that keeps him coming back day after day, ready to make a difference for his customers and team.
