A Banking Partnership Built on Trust

08/27/2026

When it comes to managing public funds, municipalities need more than a bank, they need a partner they can rely on. For the Town of Moultonborough, they found a trusted partnership with Bank of New Hampshire.

Since transitioning its banking relationship last fall, the Town has experienced firsthand the value of working with a local bank that understands the unique needs of municipalities. Finance Director Andrea Picard and Town Administrator Angela Bovill say the difference has been clear from day one.

A Decision Driven by Experience

When Andrea Picard joined the Town of Moultonborough as Finance Director, she immediately began evaluating the Town’s banking relationship. Having previously worked with Bank of New Hampshire’s municipal banking team, she already understood the value they could bring.

“I knew that Bank of New Hampshire had a unique understanding of municipal banking,” Picard said. “I reached out to Kelli Olsen, Bambi Lane and their team to discuss what they could offer.”

Beyond competitive interest options, the decision came down to confidence in working with bankers who understand local government.

“Dealing with local bankers who know municipalities made it a smart transition,” she explained.

Town Administrator Angela Bovill joined the Town while the transition was already underway and quickly saw why the move made sense.

“The finance director and treasurer had already begun the process, and I supported it completely,” Bovill said. “It’s been a great experience ever since.”

More Than a Bank—A Responsive Partner

For municipal finance teams, questions and unexpected issues can happen at any time. Having immediate access to knowledgeable people makes all the difference.

“The ability to have someone who will answer my calls at any time is incredible,” Picard commented. “I’ve never worked with a bank like this before. If I have a question or run into a hiccup, I make one phone call, and it’s resolved very quickly.”

In fact, she noted that she can’t recall a time when an issue wasn’t addressed within an hour.

That level of responsiveness has given the Town confidence that they have a true partner behind them—not just a financial institution.

Bovill agrees. “It’s a great feeling,” she said. “From our local branch staff to the municipal banking team, everyone is friendly, responsive and committed to helping us succeed. It’s truly a partnership.”

Cash Management That Makes Managing Finances Easier

Managing municipal finances requires constant visibility into accounts and the ability to move funds efficiently.

For Picard, Bank of New Hampshire’s online cash management tools have streamlined her daily work.

“They make my job so much easier,” she added. “I can quickly check balances, monitor ACH activity, move funds between accounts and access everything I need right from my computer.”

And when she needs assistance?

“If something isn’t at my fingertips, I make one phone call and someone takes care of it.”

That combination of technology and personalized support has helped simplify day-to-day financial operations for the Town.

Banking Built Around Municipal Needs

Municipal banking comes with unique requirements, and Picard believes that’s one of the biggest differences Bank of New Hampshire offers.

“Just because a bank is a bank doesn’t mean they understand municipalities,” she said. “It’s important to talk with someone who understands your specific needs.”

She encourages other municipalities who are considering a banking change to explore the options available.

“Share your goals and challenges,” she advised. “Bank of New Hampshire will work with you to find solutions.”

Bovill echoed that sentiment. “The bank goes above and beyond to meet the needs of your community,” she said. “The relationship is personal, collaborative and focused on helping your town succeed.”

Perhaps Picard summed it up best: “They customize to meet your needs. We’re proof of it.”

“At Bank of New Hampshire, we know municipalities need more than a financial institution, they need a trusted partner who understands the unique responsibilities of managing public funds,” said Kelli Olsen, VP – Government & Business Development Officer. “It’s been a privilege to work alongside the Town of Moultonborough and support Andrea, Angela and their team with tailored banking solutions. We’re proud of our partnership and remain committed to helping New Hampshire municipalities thrive.”

A Partnership You Can Count On

For the Town of Moultonborough, the relationship with Bank of New Hampshire extends well beyond everyday banking.

Whether it’s responsive customer service, tailored municipal banking solutions or technology that simplifies financial management, the Town has found a banking partner committed to helping local government operate efficiently.

As Bovill joked, when the pressure is on, she knows who to call.

“There are moments when I’ll call Kelli and simply say, ‘Fix it.’ And she’ll respond, ‘I got it.'”

That kind of trust doesn’t happen overnight, but it’s exactly what strong community partnerships are built on.
