Building Community Connections: The Story of Francestown and Bank of New Hampshire

09/22/2025

Government Banking

Incorporated in 1772, the Town of Francestown is steeped in history and culture. For more than a decade, Jamie Pike, CPM, has served as Town Administrator, guiding the community through growth and change. A key part of this journey has been the Town’s partnership with Bank of New Hampshire (BNH)−a relationship built on convenience, personal service and shared values.

Discovering a Local Partner

Two years ago, Francestown began searching for a new banking partner. BNH quickly stood out with a nearby branch in Antrim and a reputation for exceptional service. “I reached out to Rose Novotny, AVP – Banking Office Manager, and we quickly developed a great relationship,” Jamie recalls.

“The Antrim team and Francestown’s staff have an excellent relationship,” Rose adds. “We provide an exceptional customer experience and meet every need with thoroughness and a level of urgency that shows them how important they are to us.”

Why Bank of New Hampshire?

For Francestown, the choice was clear. Convenience played a significant role, with branches across the region, including in Manchester, where Jamie resides. “The convenience of branches was crucial for us,” Jamie noted, reflecting on the ease of access for town business and personal interactions alike. However, the real difference has been the personalized service BNH offers. “It’s more like family,” Jamie shares. “They know our names and we know them.”

“Our partnership with the Town spans multiple departments and levels of support,” noted Bambi Lane, AVP – Commercial Banker.

Embracing New Tools and Services

The switch to BNH also brought new efficiencies. Tools like Remote Deposit Capture and Positive Pay streamlined cash management and enhanced security. “These tools were new for us, but the bank made the transition smooth,” Jamie explains. Working with Bambi Lane and Kelli Olsen, VP – Business Development Officer, Francestown integrated these services seamlessly, strengthening both daily banking and long-term financial planning.

Advice for Others Considering a Change

When asked what advice he’d give other municipals considering a new bank, Jamie emphasizes three core values: convenience, security and integrity. Staying local was also important. ” BNH being a New Hampshire-based bank was important to us,” he emphasizes. Choosing BNH kept the Town’s money invested in the state.

Celebrating Francestown

Reflecting on his work and the community, Jamie beams with pride. “Who wouldn’t love a town like Francestown?” he says. With its rich history, vibrant culture and the scenic Monadnock region as a backdrop, it’s a special place. Through strong partnerships like the one with BNH, Francestown continues to thrive while preserving its unique charm.

As the Town looks ahead, its partnership with BNH stands as a testament to the power of local relationships−where shared goals and community focus create lasting success.
