Collin Ramsdell’s Career Journey at Bank of New Hampshire
For many, a career at Bank of New Hampshire (BNH) becomes more than just a job−it evolves into a rewarding profession. For Colllin Ramsdell, banking runs in the family− his father, grandmother and other relatives all built careers in the industry. Inspired by their example, Collin pursued his interest in economics and finance, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in this discipline from Southern New Hampshire University.
In this Employee Spotlight, we celebrate Collin’s professional journey−beginning in Retail Banking and leading to his current role in the Commercial division.
From Bank Services Representative to Senior Cash Management Support Specialist
Collin began his journey with BNH in 2018 as a Bank Services Representative at the Bedford Banking office, where he quickly developed the skills to excel and later advanced within the role. In 2020, he briefly stepped away from the bank but returned in 2022, joining the Manchester Banking office. Soon after, he transitioned to the Cash Management group within the Commercial division, first as a Cash Management Support Specialist and later earning a promotion to Senior Cash Management Support Specialist.
Reflecting on the move, Collin shares, “The transition from retail banking to commercial was a big change, but very much worth it as I have had so many chances to grow both personally and professionally.”
In his current role, Collin assists business clients with setting up, troubleshooting and training on electronic banking and cash management services, such as online banking, remote deposit capture and ACH transfers.
Why Bank of New Hampshire?
Collin was drawn to BNH because of its strong community focus as one of the largest banks headquartered in New Hampshire. For him, being able to serve the state where he was born and raised was an important factor in his decision to join the bank.
Growing Professionally and Personally
When asked how BNH has supported his growth, Collin explained that the bank has provided countless opportunities for learning and connection. “When I worked in the retail branches, I was given many opportunities to explore different paths in banking. With this guidance, I have been able to build a solid foundation of knowledge for my career in finance.”
Mission Possible Award
In 2022, Collin received the Enterprise Risk Management Mission Possible Award, which recognizes actions and accomplishments that further the bank’s mission and strategic plan.
“It felt great to be acknowledged by my peers and recognized during a quarterly bank meeting, he recalls.”
People Make the Difference
For Collin, the best part about working at BNH is the people. “The people are what make this place a great place to work. I have formed friendships in every department I have worked in.”
One Word: Opportunity
When asked to describe his career at BNH in one word, Collin chose opportunity. “For the past seven years, I’ve had opportunities for career growth, training and job shadowing that I could not have found somewhere else.”
