Bri Ellis’s Journey with Bank of New Hampshire

A career at Bank of New Hampshire (BNH) often evolves into a rewarding profession. For Bri Ellis, her passion for continuous learning has opened doors in Retail, Cash Management and Information Technology. In this Employee Spotlight, we share her journey and how her willingness to learn every aspect of her roles has propelled her professional growth within the organization.

From Bank Services Representative to Senior Systems Analyst

Bri joined BNH in 2018 as a Bank Services Representative in the Retail division, focused on teller transactions and customer service. With support from her teammates, she quickly mastered the role and was selected to be a Training Assistant for new hires.

Eager to try something new, she transitioned to a Cash Management Support role to strengthen her sales skills. With guidance from her peers in Electronic Banking, Deposit Operations and Cash Management, she quickly gained the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in this role. After a year and a half, she was once again ready for a new challenge, but unsure of her next step.

When a Systems Analyst position became available, her manager and a leader in IT encouraged her to apply. Taking a leap of faith, she interviewed and to her surprise, received an offer.

“I have been in this role for over two years, and I can say this has been the most fun and challenging role I’ve ever had,” said Bri.

As a Systems Analyst, she analyzes financial data, troubleshoots system issues, ensures regulatory compliance and serves as the subject matter expert for the bank’s intranet, BNH Connect.

Bri was promoted to Senior Systems Analyst in December 2025.

When asked what attracted her to BNH, Bri recalled, “While working at another financial institution, I heard how happy the employees were at Bank of New Hampshire and the different ways the bank shows its appreciation in addition to opportunities for growth.”

Ready to advance her career, Bri felt confident that BNH was the right place to begin her professional journey. She soon discovered that the bank’s commitment to promoting from within has been the key to her success.

“The bank’s commitment to offering training opportunities enables employees to advance their skills and knowledge in various areas,” said Bri.

Receiving the Opportunity of a Lifetime

Earning her role as Systems Analyst stands out as Bri’s most memorable achievement.

“It was invigorating to know that my skills and work ethic were being recognized by a member of the Executive Leadership Team,” she explained. “It is encouraging to know that someone at such a high-level saw value in me and pictured me in a role that I never thought was possible.”

Playing a Role in the Bank’s Success

Bri credits her motivation to both camaraderie and purpose. “Through the different roles I’ve had, I always had great teammates, and I’ve always understood how my contributions impact the bank’s success.”

Advice for Aspiring Professionals

When asked what advice she would share with others, Bri offered, “Don’t be afraid to do things that make you uncomfortable. You have to be willing to step outside your comfort zone to grow. You never know when a life-changing opportunity will present itself.”
