Employee Spotlight: Stephanie Bartlett’s Career Journey at Bank of New Hampshire

07/16/2025

At Bank of New Hampshire (BNH), career journeys may begin on unexpected paths and evolve into something meaningful and rewarding. When Stephanie Bartlett joined the bank, she held a degree in journalism−but she was looking for something different. In this Employee Spotlight, we highlight her inspiring journey, which began in our Retail Banking group and later transitioned into a role in our Deposit Operations area.

From Bank Services Representative to Senior Deposit Operations Representative

Stephanie first joined BNH in 2002 as a teller at the Laconia main office. After three years, she moved out of the area, but returned in 2013 and was rehired as a Bank Services Representative (BSR). In this role, she performed a wide range of cross-functional duties. In 2017, she transitioned to the Deposit Operations department, where she now serves as a Senior Deposit Operations Representative.

In her role, Stephanie is responsible for processing and managing various deposit accounts functions. This includes processing new accounts, performing account maintenance, handling return items and assisting with electronic banking services like ACH and wire transfers.

Why Bank of New Hampshire?

After earning a Bachelor of Science in journalism, Stephanie sought a completely different career path. She was drawn to BNH because it was where she opened her first account. Since then, the bank has provided numerous opportunities for Stephanie to grow−both personally and professionally.

In 2021, she earned her second Bachelor of Science, this time in human resources administration from Granite State College. She went on to complete the Northern New England School of Banking in 2023 and graduated from Leadership Lakes Region in 2024−her most memorable achievement to date. While initially a little intimidated by the program as an introvert, Stephanie found that taking the risk resulted in significant personal growth and fulfillment.

A High-Five

Stephanie’s motivation is fueled by the recognition she receives throughout her BNH journey. One such example is the Bank’s High Five peer-to-peer recognition program, which allows employees to recognize the activities of their colleagues who go “above and beyond.” Being recognized through this program has given Stephanie a strong sense of accomplishment and pride in her work.

A Conscientious Individual

When asked how she would describe her career in one word, Stephanie chose “conscientious.” She believes this word reflects her commitment to doing what’s right and being thoughtful in her daily responsibilities. Stephanie hopes her conscientious approach will continue to open new doors and earn the respect of her peers for her work.

Advice for Aspiring Professionals

Stephanie’s advice to those starting their own career journey. Work hard, take pride in what you do and take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.
