Stop Fraud Before It Starts with Positive Pay

Protecting your business is our top priority. That’s why Bank of New Hampshire’s offers Positive Pay ─ a powerful fraud prevention solution that puts you in complete control of your accounts.

By proactively matching your issued checks and electronic (ACH) payments against those presented for payment, we help you stop fraud, such as altered payees, counterfeits and unauthorized electronic withdrawals. You review the exceptions in Online Banking and decide which check(s) clear, ensuring your business account remains secure.

We partner with you to keep your accounts safe following these steps:

  1. You Send the List: Simply provide BNH with a file (often daily) detailing the checks you’ve issued (check number, date, amount and payee).
  2. We Compare: When a check is presented for payment, our system instantly compares it against your issuance list.
  3. Exception Handling: If a check doesn’t match (e.g., different amount, number or altered payee), it’s immediately flagged as an “exception item.”
  4. Your Review: We send you a daily report of these exceptions in Online Banking, and you decide to approve the payment or return it.

Positive Pay is offered at a monthly fee of $25 per account.
