Bank of New Hampshire Donates $5,000 to Family Promise of the Lakes Region

09/08/2026

Laconia, New Hampshire – August 17, 2026 – Safe, stable housing is an important foundation for the health and well-being of children and families. Across the Lakes Region, organizations are working to help families, facing housing instability, financial challenges, and limited access to essential recourses. To support this important work, Bank of New Hampshire recently donated $5,000 to Family Promise of the Lakes Region in support of its Homelessness Prevention and Stabilization Program.

“By helping families secure and maintain safe, stable housing, we reduce the trauma and uncertainty that negatively affect children’s emotional and developmental health. Through a Mobility Mentoring framework, we work alongside parents to build financial stability, access employment, and connect to critical resources such as healthcare, mental health services, and childcare. This holistic approach allows caregivers to be more present and consistent, creating a healthier environment for children to thrive.” said Amber Cook, Customer Service Manager for Bank of New Hampshire and Board Treasurer for Family Promise of the Lakes Region.

“Our program empowers young people by strengthening the stability of their home environment, improving school attendance, and increasing access to supportive services. By addressing the root causes of stress and instability, we help families build resilience, foster a sense of security and authenticity, and create a foundation for long-term success and well-being” said Nicole Shedd, Executive Director at Family Promise of the Lakes Region.
