Bank of New Hampshire Spreads Holiday Cheer with Christmas Gift Donation to Local Youth Organization

12/21/2023

Laconia, New Hampshire – December 21, 2023 – In the spirit of giving, Bank of New Hampshire’s employees raised $1,333 to buy presents for the children at Spaulding Academy and Family Services for the holiday season. The initiative, led by dedicated BNH employees Emily Fortson and Mallorie Hall, successfully raised an astounding total of $2,333, including a generous $1,000 match by BNH.

Bank of New Hampshire has been a consistent pillar of community engagement, directing its efforts towards charitable endeavors and encouraging employees to do the same. For many years bank employees have sponsored specific children from various organizations. In 2022, through a more coordinated effort, Emily Fortson and Mallorie Hall, both well-acquainted with Spaulding, took over the reins of this employee initiative and were dedicated in their efforts to make a meaningful difference for the children.

The initiative, held from November 27 to December 8, saw enthusiastic participation from BNH employees. Emily and Mallorie spearheaded the effort, tirelessly gathering funds and curating a list of the children’s most desired gifts supplied by Spaulding Academy. On December 9, the duo spent five hours shopping and managed to fill five carts with the gifts specifically requested by the children.

The culmination of this heartfelt endeavor was the delivery of these presents to Spaulding Academy on Monday, December 11. The children were overwhelmed and delighted by the thoughtful donations, expressing their gratitude for the joy and warmth brought into their lives this holiday season.

“Through the collaboration with Bank of New Hampshire, the children of Spaulding Academy and Family Services enjoy the best holiday experiences. The care and thoughtfulness of the gift shopping help’s make our children feel loved and cared for,” said Joyce McKenney, Community Engagement Specialist for Spaulding Academy and Family Services. “I have the most amazing job, collaborating with people like Mallorie and Emily, and working together to give our children the best Holiday experience. We cannot thank them and the bank enough for the kind and generous donation.”
