Bank of New Hampshire Announces Michael J. Long as Incoming Board Chair and Susannah Chance as Incoming Vice Chair

Laconia, New Hampshire – January 8, 2025 – Bank of New Hampshire is proud to announce the appointment of Michael J. Long as Chair and Susannah Chance as Vice Chair of its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025.
Michael J. Long, a lifelong New Hampshire resident and an esteemed leader in the banking industry, brings a wealth of experience and a legacy of community dedication to his role as Board Chair. A former President & CEO of Bank of New Hampshire, Mr. Long also co-founded and led Community Guaranty Savings Bank as its President & CEO. Since becoming a Director of Bank of New Hampshire in 2016 and a Trustee of BNH Financial the same year, Mr. Long has played a pivotal role in guiding the Bank’s strategic direction.
Mr. Long has a longstanding history of community service, currently serving on the Board of Mid State Health. His previous contributions include twenty years on the Community Development Finance Authority Board, as well as leadership roles with the White Mountain Gateway Economic Development Corporation, Grafton County Economic Development Corporation and the Lakes Region Compliance Group. He has also chaired the New Hampshire Bankers Association and contributed to the American Bankers Association’s Government Relations Committee. Known for his dedication to economic development, education and healthcare in New Hampshire, Mr. Long’s leadership reflects Bank of New Hampshire’s commitment to its communities.
Susannah Chance, the incoming Vice Chair, has been a Director of Bank of New Hampshire since 2023 and a Trustee of BNH Financial since the same year. She currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Work Opportunities Unlimited, Inc., where she oversees the company’s Human Resources operations across seven states. In addition to her professional expertise, Ms. Chance is deeply involved in the community, holding leadership roles such as Chair of the Business & Industry Association’s HR/Health Care/Workforce Development Policy Committee, the Chair of the NH Workers’ Compensation Classification and Rating Appeals Board, a member of the NH Workers’ Compensation Appeals Advisory Board, and President of the Gilmanton Iron Works Library Association.
Ms. Chance’s extensive experience in human resources, training, and consulting, combined with her passion for workforce development and community engagement, positions her as a vital contributor to Bank of New Hampshire’s continued growth and service to the state.
