Bank of New Hampshire Grants $5,000 for “Meals 4 Kids”

12/28/2023

Laconia, New Hampshire – December 28, 2023 – Bank of New Hampshire proudly contributed $5,000 to Gather’s Meals 4 Kids program: Enhancing Childhood Nutrition and Food Security.

Gather provides nutritious food and prepared meals to those experiencing hunger on the Seacoast of NH and Maine. They do this through their pantry market, mobile markets and innovative food access programs. Gather serves more than 7,000 Seacoast residents each month and distributes over 1.5 million pounds of food each year. Meals 4 Kids provides healthy food to children and teens eligible for free and reduced-price meals when school is not in session. Fresh, healthy food is delivered to children where they live and play through a mobile delivery system and in partnership with local organizations, like Bank of New Hampshire. During the 2023-2024 academic year, Meals 4 Kids will operate at five community sites for a total of twelve weeks during the summer, and during school vacations in the winter and spring. The program serves more than 500 low to moderate-income children.

“Gather’s mission is to offer innovative programs that build food security in welcoming and dignified ways. With food insecurity on the rise in NH, Bank of New Hampshire’s support is all the more important,” said Anne Hayes, Executive Director of Gather. “This donation will allow Gather to purchase fresh, healthy food to share with families in need this holiday season. We so appreciate the support – it makes our work possible!”
