Laconia, New Hampshire – August 26, 2025 – Banks of New Hampshire’s Prestige Plus members recently enjoyed a memorable day trip that combined relaxation, history and local flavor. The trip featured a narrated cruise on Lake Sunapee, a guided tour of the John Hay Estate at The Fells and a stop at Jordan’s Ice Cream in Belmont.

During a cruise along the crystal-clear waters of Lake Sunapee, members listened as the captain of the Mt. Sunapee Queen shared stories of the lake’s rich history, admired the grand summer homes that line its shores and viewed three historic lighthouses still in operation. Members also enjoyed a delightful lunch on board with views of Mount Kearsarge and Mount Sunapee as loons swam nearby.

Following the cruise, the group visited the John Hay Estate at The Fells, the historic lakeside summer retreat of the former private secretary to President Abraham Lincoln and statesman. During a guided tour of the Main House, members learned about Hay’s remarkable life and legacy. Afterward, they strolled the estate’s grounds and gardens, pathways to stone walls and terraces, shaded woodland trails and sweeping lawns leading down to the lake.

The day concluded with a stop at Jordan’s Ice Cream in Belmont, where members indulged in a sweet treat on their way home.

“Our Prestige Plus trips are designed to offer our members opportunities for enrichment, discovery and connection,” said Cindy Salta, VP – Prestige Plus Officer for Bank of New Hampshire. “This outing was the perfect combination of history, natural beauty and camaraderie.”
